The Lizard - a Poem by Dellani Oakes

There's a lizard in my kitchen
It's quite a sight to see.
I like the little lizard
But he's terrified of me.

He thinks I cannot see him
Underneath the cabinet.
But I can see him perfectly
I wish I had a net.

I'm afraid I'm gonna step on him
Underneath the edge like that.
And if I step on lizard
His insides will go splat.

He's hiding so effectively
There's little I can do.
But if he isn't careful
He's gonna end up goo.
