Fragrance Lingers ~ A Love in the City Romance by Dellani Oakes – Part 14

Drying his face, he combed his hair with his fingers and went back out to the main room. Mara was waiting on the couch. She'd found a bottle of wine and a couple glasses. She'd even lit a fire against the chilly night air. She looked amazing with just a hint of pink in her cheeks from their day in the sun.

Cole sat next to Mara on the couch, putting his arm around her. She snuggled against him, leaning into the crook of his shoulder, staring at the fire. He knew she expected him to make the first move, but he felt clumsy and foolish.

Just go with your feelings. Relax, take it easy....

He leaned over, kissing her neck. The moment he touched her, his confidence returned. The clumsiness disappeared, and he knew that he wanted everything to be perfect.

"Want some wine?" He stroked his hand on her thigh, brushing up under the edge of her shorts.

"Not really. You?"

"No, the only vintage I'm interested in sampling, is sitting next to me," he whispered, nibbling her earlobe.

Mara wiggled until she was facing him. Her arms felt so good around him, drawing him close into a tight embrace. She smiled against his lips.

"What?"

"I've been wondering something since we met." She laughed a little nervously.

"Oh?"

"Yeah. You know that tattoo you've got of the snakes?"

"Mm hm." He kissed her neck, hands busily getting to know the curves of her body.

"Just how far down does it go?"

Cole chuckled, then laughed lightly. "Were you staring at that? Is that why you weren't paying attention to me?"

Mara blushed. "Well... it was right at eye level."

"So it was." He kissed her again. "Would you like to see how far it goes?"

"Mm hm." Her eyes sparkled with curiosity and delight.

"I'll have to show you then," he said as he kissed her once more. "But first...." He put his hands on the bottom of her shirt. "Let's get rid of this annoying garment."

Cole lifted the edge of the top just above her breasts. His lips sent tongues of fire through her veins. A little moan escaped her as she shivered with pleasure. He lifted the top gently over her head, continuing to kiss her.

His fingers drifted down to her shorts, sliding under the top and up her leg. She leaned back so he could undo the button for her, easing the zipper down slowly, anticipating the moment when he could touch her skin. Enjoying the suspense, he slipped his hands around behind her. Mara did a little shimmy with her hips, easing out of her shorts so she was only in her panties.

"My turn," she whispered, reaching for his shorts.

He stopped her from untying them, bringing her hands down instead to feel how hard he was because of her. It throbbed like a living thing at her soft touch. Cole moaned as she trailed her fingers down his chest, drawing circles around his nipples and his navel. This time when she started to untie the shorts, he let her. She took her time, a feeling of absolute power filling her. She controlled this moment and it felt good. Hesitating another breath, she undid the Velcro fly of the shorts, peeling it apart in short bursts. Each movement caused a gasp of pleasure. He wasn't wearing anything under the swimming trunks, and she had a good view of how far down the tattoo went. Her fingers trailed down, following the curves of the intertwined serpents. She kissed his belly lightly, making him moan louder.

She stood, holding out her hand to him. He rose slowly, taking her in his arms. He carried her to the bed, setting her gently down in the middle. Cole dropped his shorts to the floor and lay next to her on the bed. Mara was suddenly gripped with a moment of doubt and fear. She wasn't the most experienced woman in the world, in fact she could count the number of men she'd on one hand, with a couple fingers to spare. Cole slipped her panties down over her hips and off onto the floor. Grabbing a condom from the drawer by the bed, he rolled it on before joining her.

Mara shivered slightly, the air in the stone walled room slightly chilly away from the fire. Cole tossed the blankets back and they crawled beneath them, cuddling for warmth. Mara clung to Cole like a lifeline, feeling unsure of herself. Her body tensed against his.

"What's wrong?"

"Nothing...."

"Don't you want this?"

"Yes..." she moaned as he touched her. "Yes I do, so much!"

"Then why are you so tense? Did I hurt you, do something you don't like?"

His tongue flickered out, tickling her nipples. His lips fluttered from her neck to her belly as his hands explored lower down.

"No...I just...." she gasped. "I don't want you to be disappointed."

"Don't talk," he whispered. "Kiss me and don't worry. You couldn't disappoint me—unless you told me to stop. Then I'd be very disappointed." He chuckled softly, feeling her relax against him.

"Don't stop...." She tugged him over to her, bringing her hips up to meet him.

Cole entered her gently, slowly, holding his breath until he was completely inside her, feeling her warm and soft around him. He sighed contentedly, moving smoothly.
